When you don’t ask the question, the answer will always be no.
Only you know what you want in your career. And if you keep silent, thinking your boss will somehow read your mind and give you exactly what you’re hoping for, then you’ve already assured that the answer will be no.
You can’t get what you want unless you ask for it. And as scary as asking can be, it’s necessary for us to put what we want out there where our bosses can hear it if we ever want to receive it. Let me tell you how to start asking for what you want, and how to do it right!
