Welcome to Resignation Letter Radio! The podcast for high-achieving women who are done with performing to earn more, done with proving themselves to make more, and done holding onto a title at the cost of their freedom. I’m Rebecca Muriuki, ex-Corporate director, Wealth Recalibration Guide, and woman who walked away from the title to find something way more powerful: Herself. This is the audio corner for the woman who wants to take back the power she outsourced to a corporate title and create wea.th that allows her to leave her 9-5 and go on a journey of self rediscovery. This is for the woman who has had the inner whisper that there’s more to wealth, worth, and identity than another job title. Each episode is a voice note from my soul to yours. No scripts, no formulas. Just the truth about walking away, rebuilding your frequency, and becoming the kind of woman who never needs to be chosen again. Welcome to the rebellion.

Doing vs. Being in Your Career
Thursday Oct 27, 2022
Thursday Oct 27, 2022
When you go to work conferences, to career coaching sessions, to trainings…are they giving you advice on how to BE? Or are they giving you more things to DO?
You do not need more “to dos” checked off of your list in order to advance in your career. What you need to learn is how to be.
How to be a leader. How to be a director. How to be a manager or an executive or whatever that next step is. When it comes to growth, BEING is the secret sauce to having any result you want in your life.
This week, I’m going to be talking about:
- What identity has to do with career advancement
- Why my misconceptions about “doing” nearly cost me an amazing opportunity at work
- Why you need to stop focusing on the “doing” in order to grow
No more to-dos here. I’m going to tell you all about what it means to BE.

The Biggest Misconception About Getting a Promotion at Work
Thursday Oct 20, 2022
Thursday Oct 20, 2022
If you only take one thing away from this week’s episode, I want it to be this: there are other ways to get a promotion outside of being rewarded for hard work. You can actually plan your own promotion.
If you’re feeling doubtful, I completely understand—this is not the way we’re taught in corporate. No one else in corporate is even talking about this. But it IS possible…I know, because I’ve done it. And if no one else in corporate is going to tell you how, I’m happy to be the first!
This week, I’ll be telling you about…
- My experience with the mindset of “earning” promotions
- Why I used to be immersed in the “quiet quitter” mindset…and why I don’t support that ideology
- What happened when I shifted my mindset and began planning my promotions
If you’re feeling frustrated by constantly being overlooked when promotion season rolls around, you need to listen to this episode…and you need my Position to Promotion guide! The link to download can be found below!

The Confidence Code for Black Women at Work
Thursday Oct 13, 2022
Thursday Oct 13, 2022
In the corporate world, confidence is key when you’re looking to reach the next rung of the career ladder.
Unfortunately, no one is talking about what to do if you struggle with confidence—or why these silent expectations are placed on you in the first place.
Struggling with self-confidence in the workplace can have many causes, such as…
- The way you were raised
- Toxic work environments
- A preoccupation with past mistakes
These are just a few of the reasons you may not be displaying the kind of confidence people look for when assessing potential candidates for promotions. But no matter the cause, there are plenty of ways you can begin to build up your self-confidence and let go of the limiting beliefs holding you back. Listen now to hear my five tips for boosting your confidence in the workplace.

Your Self Worth is Not Your Work
Thursday Oct 06, 2022
Thursday Oct 06, 2022
If I asked each of you listening to this podcast whether or not you’re suffering from self-worth issues, I think you’d probably say no…even if you are.
I’ve noticed an invisible stigma surrounding self-worth issues. Nobody wants to admit they struggle with self-image, especially in the workplace. But ignoring the problem doesn’t make it go away…and if you don’t solve it, you may find your promotion dreams continually dashed because of it.
If you find yourself struggling with…
- Tying your identity to how MUCH you work rather than how WELL you work
- Constantly going above and beyond in order to prove to yourself that you belong there
- Having no activities or identity outside of work—when someone asks you what you do, you give them your title
- Feeling guilty for holding your boundaries and constantly compromising on them
…then you may have more difficulties with self-image than you think.
How do you stop compromising on this? Let me tell you how to boost your self-worth in order to prepare yourself to get to the next level in your career.

How to overcome imposter syndrome at work
Thursday Sep 29, 2022
Thursday Sep 29, 2022
Last week, we discussed the five types of imposter syndrome, and how we can identify which one we suffer from and where it shows up in our work; this week, I want to talk about the root causes of imposter syndrome but most importantly, how to overcome imposter syndrome at work. Identifying the root cause is a huge step in overcoming it in your career.
For some, it stems from a single bad experience they may have had early on in their careers. For others, it could stem from their upbringing. For others, it could be limiting beliefs.
Everyone is different, and everyone has different places where their imposter syndrome has grown from. But if we can track down that root, it will be that much easier to fight off those lingering thoughts and fears that are holding us back from stepping into the roles we deserve.
Ready for the conclusion to my three-part series on imposter syndrome? Let's finish this series strong!
